Objective
In ancient times the Polynesians successfully navigated amonst the islands of the Pacific by knowing the positions of the stars in the sky.Later the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans were able to develop these skills and in more recent times the Vikings successfully plundered the early-Christian monasteries in the British Isles with amazing accuracy.
Today the modern ships' navigator has an array of electronic and conventional tools available to afford the same levels of accuracy but what happens when the lights go out?
If you've done a Yachtmaster Navigation course you'll be well-positioned to take your skills to a new level...'...All I need is a tall ship and a star to sail her by...'
