Objective
Sail in light wind on your own without the assistance of an instructor.
Previous Knowledge / Experience
You would be expected to hold a Start Sailing (Lev 1) Certificate or demonstrate a level of knowledge and skill equal to that course.
Duration
Intensively over 4 days or 5 days in a summercamp format.

What to Bring:
By now you should probably have your own kit but we have wetsuits etc if you don't. You can hire these for €5.
We provide PFDs / Lifejackets FREE.

Material Covered / Syllabus
Dress appropriately, Rig/De-rig and prepare dinghy for launching, Reefing ashore, Knots - Bowline & Clove Hitch, launch & recovery, Manoeuvres including Land & Depart in various wind/tide conditions, Points of Sail, Mooring, Coming Alongside a boat or pontoon in various directions, MOB Recovery, Heave-to, Sail with Jib only.
The 5 essentials, Capsize Recovey (as helm), Entrapments, Rules of the Road, Tidal heights and Streams, Weather Forecasting - Practical, Safety - Leaving a plan, Flares, Coping with a Cold sailor.
You'll aslo learn the importance of First Aid Training and where-to next.
